According to sources, Farhan Ghani’s lawyer, Advocate Waqar Alam Abbasi, confirmed the release of all three accused, stating that the development came after the complainant withdrew the case.
Details revealed that the complainant, Hafiz Sohail Ahmed Jadoon, submitted a written request to the investigating officer for the withdrawal of the case. The case alleged that Farhan Ghani and other individuals attacked a government official who was overseeing work related to optical fiber cables and subjected him to violence. Footage of the incident also surfaced, further highlighting the matter.
It should be noted that the case was registered at Ferozabad Police Station in Karachi, where multiple individuals, including Saeed Ghani’s brother and Chairman of Chanesar Town, Farhan Ghani, were nominated. Later, the Anti-Terrorism Court approved their physical remand until August 30 under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
However, following the complainant’s withdrawal, the three accused were released. Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar also assured that no women linked to the case would be harassed and that legal proceedings would continue in accordance with the law.
