A robbery attempt in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Johar Bhittaiabad was foiled after a quick-thinking citizen disarmed and shot one of the armed suspects, leaving him injured, while his accomplice managed to escape.
The incident occurred on Street No. 6 in Bhittaiabad when a man named Irfan arrived home with his wife on a motorcycle. As soon as they reached their doorstep, two armed robbers attempted to loot them. Acting bravely, Irfan snatched a pistol from one of the robbers and opened fire, injuring the suspect, who was then overpowered on the spot. His partner, however, fled the scene.
According to SHO Malir Cantt Agha Rasheed, the citizen’s courage not only saved his own life but also led to the arrest of a dangerous criminal. Police reached the spot immediately and shifted the injured suspect to the hospital, where he was identified as Haider Khan.
Authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and raids are being conducted to track down the fugitive accomplice.
