The Punjab government has announced a significant increase in the wages of daily wage workers across the province. An official notification has been issued to formalize the pay raise, bringing financial relief to thousands of laborers.
According to the notification issued by the Assistant Commissioner (HR), new daily wage rates have been set for skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled laborers. This decision aims to help workers cope with the rising cost of living and ensure fair compensation for their services.
The wages for skilled daily wagers have been increased by 1,975 rupees per day, setting their new monthly salary at 45,945 rupees. This increment is expected to significantly improve the income of skilled laborers and support their families.
Semi-skilled workers have also received a considerable pay hike, with daily wages raised by 1,558 rupees. Their new monthly salary has been fixed at 43,108 rupees, reflecting the government’s focus on supporting the middle-income labor segment.
For unskilled laborers, the daily wage has been increased to 1,538 rupees, with a new monthly salary of 40,000 rupees. This step is seen as a crucial measure to ease the financial burden on low-income workers.
Government officials stated that this wage increase was implemented in response to economic pressures and inflation, aiming to provide workers with better purchasing power and more stable living conditions.
