Senator Faisal Vawda has claimed that the 27th Constitutional Amendment has been approved, adding that preparations should now begin for the 28th Amendment. Speaking informally with journalists at the Parliament House, he said that the approval of the 27th Amendment will further strengthen the democratic process and enhance the country’s defense framework.
When a journalist asked whether Maulana Fazlur Rehman would agree to this amendment, Faisal Vawda responded that Maulana is a senior leader whom he respects deeply and from whom he has learned political wisdom over the years. He added that the Prime Minister has taken a commendable and democratic step, for which he holds him in high regard.
Another question was raised regarding the proposed amendment concerning the change of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s name. In response, Vawda stated that Aimal Wali is a close friend of his, and he is willing to follow whatever Aimal suggests. Responding to yet another question, the senator advised that the 27th Amendment now holds little significance and that it is time to start preparing for the 28th Amendment.
