Pakistan secured a thrilling 5-run victory against Sri Lanka A to qualify for the final of the ACC Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament. Chasing Pakistan’s target of 154 runs, the Sri Lankan side could only manage 148 for 9 in their allotted overs, falling short despite a determined effort.
The tournament final will be played on Sunday between Pakistan Shaheens and Bangladesh A, setting the stage for an exciting title clash.
Sri Lanka’s Milan scored a valiant 40 runs, while Lasth and Vishen contributed 29 runs each. However, the rest of the batting lineup struggled noticeably, with eight Sri Lankan players unable to reach double figures, resulting in mounting pressure throughout the innings.
For Pakistan, Sufyan Muqeem and Saad Masood delivered outstanding spells, each picking up three wickets. Their disciplined bowling in the middle overs proved decisive in securing Pakistan’s narrow but crucial win.
