Lahore: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced to challenge the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to postpone elections in Punjab in the Supreme Court, while PTI senators will also participate in a joint parliamentary session.
PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry and Secretary General Asad Umar informed the media about the decisions taken in a meeting chaired by Imran Khan. Asad Umar said that the date of the election has already been announced, and the elections will be held on April 30.
He added that Senator Ali Zafar is preparing a request to file a petition against the ECP’s decision in the Supreme Court. We will not allow any deviation from the Constitution under any circumstances, he emphasized.
Fawad Chaudhry said that a joint parliamentary session was called tomorrow to attack the Supreme Court. It was found that PTI was not even a part of the agenda of the parliamentary session, and they attacked the Supreme Court.
