Peshawar: An Afghan national who issued an anti-Pakistan statement has been arrested following the circulation of his video on social media, prompting swift action by law enforcement agencies due to security concerns.
According to police officials, a video showing Afghan citizen Shah Nawaz making remarks against Pakistan went viral on social media a day earlier, after which authorities took immediate notice and initiated an investigation into the matter.
Police said that Shah Nawaz was arrested from the Khazana refugee camp located in the Daudzai area, where he was taken into custody and questioned. During interrogation, the accused admitted to making the anti-Pakistan statement and also offered an apology for his remarks.
Police officials stated that after completing all legal formalities, the Afghan national will be deported to Afghanistan, and coordination with immigration and relevant authorities is underway to ensure that the process is carried out in accordance with the law.
It is worth recalling that Pakistan launched an operation against illegally residing Afghan nationals starting April 1, 2025, under which hundreds of thousands of Afghan citizens have already been repatriated as part of efforts to maintain national security and enforce immigration laws.
