An important weather forecast has been issued by the Meteorological Department, indicating the possibility of rain and snowfall in several parts of the country, while cold conditions are expected to persist across most regions.
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to remain cold in most areas, with partly cloudy skies expected. In Islamabad, cold weather with partly cloudy conditions is also anticipated.
In Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding areas, the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy, while similar cold and partly cloudy conditions are forecast for the Potohar region as well.
The department stated that fog is likely to prevail in Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Okara, Pakpattan, Kasur, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, and Mianwali, which may affect visibility during certain hours.
Similarly, fog is also expected in most parts of Layyah, Bhakkar, Noorpur Thal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Shorkot, Multan, Kot Addu, Bahawalnagar, Khanpur, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan.
According to the Meteorological Department, rain and snowfall may occur at a few locations in Gilgit-Baltistan, while cold and dry weather is expected to prevail in Azad Kashmir and Balochistan.
The department further stated that a new spell of rain and snowfall is expected to begin from tomorrow in various parts of the country. Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority Punjab has forecast rainfall in most districts of Punjab from today until January 23.
According to the PDMA, heavy snowfall and rain are expected in Murree, Galiyat, and other mountainous areas, while rain is also likely in Lahore, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Multan, Faisalabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalpur divisions.
