The Punjab government has announced two additional public holidays across the province and has issued an official notification in this regard. According to the notification, public holidays will be observed in Punjab on February 6 and 7, 2026, during which government offices and educational institutions will remain closed.
As per the details, Friday and Saturday, February 6 and 7, have been declared public holidays, while February 5 has already been announced as a public holiday on the occasion of Kashmir Day. Additionally, with Sunday falling on February 8, citizens across the province will benefit from four consecutive days off.
The Services and General Administration Department has formally issued the notification, stating that these holidays will be observed throughout Punjab. The notification further clarifies that all government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, as well as public and private educational institutions across the province, will remain closed on these days.
The Punjab government has also issued a separate notification for a public holiday on Kashmir Day, February 5, under which various events and activities will be held to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir.
