Religious gatherings and processions are being held across the country today with great devotion and respect on the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA), while strict security arrangements have been put in place in various cities to maintain law and order.
In Karachi, a mourning congregation will be held at Nishtar Park before the central procession begins. After the gathering, the procession will proceed along its designated routes and conclude at Hussainia Iraniyan Imambargah in Kharadar. Due to security concerns, several roads and streets in the Saddar area have been closed with containers to ensure the safety of the procession routes.
Meanwhile, in Rawalpindi, the central procession of Youm-e-Ali (RA) concluded at Imambargah Colonel Maqbool. Similarly, in Peshawar, the procession held in connection with Youm-e-Ali (RA) ended at Imambargah Syed Alam Shah after passing through Kochi Bazaar and returning to the Imambargah.
On the other hand, Sindh Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar reviewed the procession route and security arrangements in Karachi and directed the concerned authorities to ensure extraordinary security measures during the procession.
According to officials, a heavy deployment of police and other law enforcement agencies has been made to maintain peace and security during the processions and religious gatherings, while special monitoring is also being carried out at sensitive locations.
