Sindh Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah has announced that the Sindh government has declared a public holiday across the province on the occasion of Jumat-ul-Wida. He stated that the decision has been taken in view of the religious significance of the day so that people can participate in prayers and religious activities with ease.
Nasir Hussain Shah further stated that a road in Karachi will be named after Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He added that the necessary steps are being taken in this regard, and relevant authorities have been directed to proceed with the required arrangements.
He also said that permission cannot be granted for holding a rally on Shahrah-e-Faisal on the occasion of Jumat-ul-Wida. According to him, all religious and social organizations have been advised to take out their rallies on their traditional and previously designated routes to avoid traffic and security complications.
It is worth mentioning that today processions are being taken out in small and large cities across the country on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali (RA), while religious gatherings are also being held at various places.
In Karachi, several roads and streets in the Saddar area have been closed with containers due to security concerns in order to maintain law and order during the processions.
