Islamabad: The Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) has increased the gas tariff from 8% to 112% in different slabs. The new gas tariff has been implemented from January 1st, 2023.
According to the gas authorities, the increase has been made in a phased manner in different slabs.
The collection of outstanding dues has also begun along with the increase in gas prices from last month. The remaining dues are being recovered along with the current bills being sent to domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers.
The gas authorities have stated that during November to February, consumers using gas heaters and geysers will have to pay several times more bills. New bills will include the outstanding dues in four installments. In addition, a new category of protected domestic consumers has been introduced in the new gas tariff.
It should be noted that due to the increase in the gas tariff, the consumer who was paying a bill of Rs. 871 will now have to pay Rs. 2,900 along with outstanding dues.
