President Arif Alvi has sent the Supreme Court Amendment Bill back for reconsideration, but in response, the Secretary-General of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Shiree Rehman, stated that the President has already proven his stance on the matter by sending the bill back.
A leader of the People’s Party had previously claimed that the President had been viewing every decision of Parliament through the lens of the PTI. However, Shiree Rehman denied these allegations and said that the President is following the party’s policy.
She further stated that the President has been running the President’s House like an ordinance factory for the past three and a half years, and therefore, he cannot be aware of Parliament’s powers. She advised the President not to teach Parliament how to legislate.
