The public has welcomed the recent reduction in petroleum prices, while also demanding further cuts to ease the burden of inflation.
Citizens said that along with petrol and diesel prices, the government should also reduce the prices of food and other essential commodities to provide real relief.
A day earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a significant reduction in petroleum prices, cutting diesel by Rs135 per litre and petrol by Rs12 per litre.
According to the Prime Minister, after the reduction, diesel is now available at Rs385 per litre instead of Rs520, while petrol has decreased from Rs378 to Rs366 per litre.
Public circles have urged the government to extend relief measures to other sectors as well so that the benefits can be felt more broadly across the economy.
