Islamabad: The government has once again increased the prices of petroleum products, raising concerns about further financial pressure on inflation-hit citizens.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 14.92 per litre for the next week, taking the new petrol price to Rs 414.78 per litre.
Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel has also been increased by Rs 15 per litre, bringing the new diesel price to Rs 414.58 per litre.
Following the government’s announcement, the revised prices have come into effect immediately, while fears of further increases in transportation fares and essential commodities have also emerged.
Experts say the increase in petroleum prices may also impact the overall inflation rate, while citizens have expressed concern over the latest hike.
