Global oil prices rose further following a new series of reported US strikes on Iran, adding to concerns over potential disruptions to energy supplies.
According to reports, Brent crude gained $1.93, or about 2%, to reach $96 a barrel, its highest level since June 8.
US West Texas Intermediate crude also rose by $1.44, or 1.7%, to $88.27 per barrel.
Brent had already climbed by more than $3 in the previous trading session, closing at $94.07 a barrel, while WTI recorded an increase of nearly 3% on Wednesday.
The latest rise came amid reports of renewed US military action against Iran and attacks by Yemen’s Houthis on oil tankers in the Red Sea.
Growing regional tensions and fears of possible disruptions to major oil shipping routes have increased uncertainty across global energy markets.
