Three soldiers of the Pakistani Army were martyred, while three innocent civilians were injured as a result of a suicide bombing in the area of Miranshah, North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Public Relations (ISPR) department of the Pakistan Army, on July 5, 2023, a suicide bomber targeted himself with an explosive device in the civilian area of Miranshah, North Waziristan district.
As a result of the blast, Mr. Khan, a 41-year-old Deputy Governor from Mianwali, Naik Muhammad Ibrahim, a 40-year-old soldier hailing from Dera Ismail Khan, and Sepoy Jahangir Khan, a 24-year-old soldier, embraced martyrdom. Additionally, three innocent civilians were severely injured.
According to ISPR, the objective of the suicide attacker was to target a security forces check post. However, due to the vigilance and bravery of the troops present on duty, they managed to timely stop the suicide attacker, saving the area from significant damage.
The statement further emphasized that Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eliminate terrorism, and the sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.
In North and South Waziristan, there has been an ongoing series of continuous attacks by terrorists targeting security forces. However, the brave soldiers of the Pakistani Army, by sacrificing their lives, are resolutely moving forward in their mission to protect the motherland and thwart the designs of terrorists.
Last week, on July 1, during successful operations conducted by security forces in tanks and districts of North Waziristan, six active terrorists involved in various terrorist activities against the forces and innocent civilians were eliminated.
