Chinese President Xi Jinping has said that the completion of the 10-year milestone of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has become a shining example of the all-weather friendship between China and Pakistan. CPEC represents a brilliant testament to the everlasting friendship between the two nations and lays the foundation for a shared future in the new era.
During the ceremony held to mark the 10th anniversary of the initiation of CPEC, President Xi Jinping emphasized that the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is the most significant and flagship project of China-Pakistan economic cooperation.
President Xi stated that since its inception in 2013, both countries have been advancing the construction of CPEC in accordance with the principles of mutual consultation, construction, and shared benefits, and have reaped multiple initial benefits. This has not only given Pakistan’s economic and social development a new impetus but also provided a solid foundation for regional connectivity and integration.
The Chinese President highlighted that the economic corridor has become a living proof of the four-season friendship between China and Pakistan and has played an important role in shaping a closer China-Pakistan community of shared future.
President Xi Jinping expressed his commitment to working with Pakistan in the future to improve planning and management and expand cooperation, aiming for higher standards, sustainability, and people-friendly objectives. He envisions CPEC as a model project under the Belt and Road Initiative, promoting joint construction in various fields with high standards.
He emphasized that no matter how the international situation may change, China will always stand firmly with Pakistan and enhance the development and well-being of both countries, strengthening our strong friendship in a steadfast manner.
President Xi further expressed that by deepening cooperation on a broader scale and with higher quality, China and Pakistan will take the all-weather strategic partnership to new heights, and both countries will continue to contribute more services to the peace and well-being of the region.
