The IMF has insisted on keeping all government institutions under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance and said that reforms in governance and private sector are important to attract foreign investment.
Esther Perez Ruiz, the representative of the IMF in Pakistan, said in her statement that keeping government institutions under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance is part of the planned reforms.
He said that the $3 billion standby arrangement program has an expiration date of early 2024. The IMF representative said that governance and private sector reforms are important to attract foreign investment.
IMF representative Esther Peres added that it would be premature to say anything about the implementation of the standby arrangement program.
