Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja has said that the time for general elections is near, everyone should work together to ensure a fair and transparent election.
A meeting was held at the Chief Minister’s House under the leadership of Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja and Chief Minister’s Secretary Mohsin Naqvi. The meeting was attended by provincial members of the Election Commission and the Punjab Cabinet. During the meeting, the preparations of the Punjab government and the arrangements made by the Election Commission for the upcoming elections were reviewed.
The Chief Election Commissioner is upset with the preparations of the caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh.
During the meeting, a briefing was also provided on security arrangements for the elections. Additionally, a commitment was made to ensure safe, free, and fair conduct of the elections. In this regard, the Punjab government will appoint a focal person to coordinate with the Election Commission in matters related to the elections.
The Chief Election Commissioner stated that the general elections will be held as scheduled, and the Election Commission is fully prepared for the elections. The Punjab government will receive complete support for free and fair elections, and they are confident in the government’s actions thus far. The delimitation process for constituencies will be completed by November 30.
