Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday accepted the request to transfer the illegal marriage case, filed against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Busra Bibi, to another court.
The court transferred the case to the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka. District and Sessions Judge Shahrukh Arjamand had written a letter to Chief Justice IHC for transfer of the case.
It is pertinent to note that Bushra Bibi’s ex-husband Khawar Manika objected to Judge Shahrukh Arjumand.
At the previous hearing, Judge Shahrukh told the Manika’s lawyer to consult with Rizwan Abbasi and tell what they want.
Assistant lawyer of Khawar Manika spoke to the session judge that their case should be transferred to another court.
Judge Arjamand said that the no-confidence motion has already been dismissed, tell your lawyer what you want to say.
Khawar Manika while talking to the session judge said that he does not want him to decide the case.
Session Judge Shahrukh Arjamand asked Khawar about the reason. Distrust is being repeated again and again, there should be a discussion. Tell the reason, some judge has to decide.
After which, the judge of the District and Sessions Court went to his chambers without giving a verdict on the appeals of founder PTI and Bushra Bibi against the punishments in the Iddat Nikah case.
He wrote a letter to the Registrar IHC saying that the appeals of Bushra Bibi and PTI founder were scheduled for hearing, Khawar Manika expressed distrust in him.
The judge said that the no-confidence motion had already been dismissed, it would not be right to decide on Manika’s no-confidence appeals again. There is a request to transfer the appeals to another court. Khawar and his lawyers have always tried to disrupt the hearing.
