Australia Defeats England by 28 Runs in T20 Thanks to Travis Head’s Aggressive Innings
The first match of the 3-match T20 series between Australia and England was played in Southampton. England won the toss and invited Australia to bat first.
Australia, batting first, set England a target of 180 runs to win the first T20I. Travis Head played an aggressive innings and scored 59 runs off 23 balls. Matthew Short 41, Josh Ingles 37, Cameron Green 13, Marcus Stoins 10, Adam Zampa scored 5 runs and returned to the pavilion.
Liam Livingston took 3 wickets for England. Saqib Mehmood and Jofra Archer took 2, 2 wickets while Adil Rashid and Sam Karan took 1, 1 wicket.
In pursuit of the target, the entire England team returned to the pavilion after scoring 151 runs. Lyme Livingston scored 37 runs and Phil Salt scored 20 runs. Australian bowler Sean Abbott took 3 wickets while Adam Zampa and Josh Hazlewood took 2 and 2 wickets respectively.
