The inflation-hit public has received troubling news as ghee and cooking oil prices have surged by up to 20% over the past two months. Following the increase in the open market, utility stores have also raised the prices of edible oils.
While the government claims to have reduced inflation, the prices of essential food items continue to rise unchecked. The costs of ghee and cooking oil have surged dramatically, leaving the public struggling to manage their household budgets.
In Faisalabad, ghee prices have increased by Rs. 30 to Rs. 120 per kilogram, and cooking oil prices have risen by Rs. 50 to Rs. 100 per liter. This steep hike is further straining already tight budgets.
Dealers attribute this price surge to the rising cost of raw materials in international markets. Even utility stores are not spared, with ghee prices climbing by Rs. 40 per kilogram and cooking oil by Rs. 55 per liter.
