The Meteorological Department has predicted rain and snowfall in various parts of the country.
According to the Meteorological Department, most areas of the country are expected to experience cold and dry weather, while mountainous regions are predicted to remain cold. Islamabad and its surrounding areas are likely to stay cold, with cold and dry weather expected in most districts of Punjab. Rain is anticipated at a few locations in Murree, Galliyat, and surrounding areas.
Fog is likely in Multan, Khanewal, Khanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Bahawalpur, with fog expected in most parts of southern Punjab. Rain and snowfall are predicted in some areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, while various regions in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to receive rain and snowfall. Kohistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Battagram, Mansehra, and Abbottabad are likely to experience rainfall.
Rain and snowfall are also expected in Azad Kashmir and adjacent mountainous areas, with cold winds predicted in some plains. Fog is anticipated in some areas of upper Sindh.
Most districts of Balochistan are expected to have cold and dry weather, with clear skies. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature recorded in Quetta was -2°C, -5°C in Kalat, and -4°C in Ziarat. Cold weather is expected in the province’s plains, with cold winds likely in Jiwani, Pasni, and Gwadar.
Partly cloudy skies are expected in Pishin, Saranan, Khanozai, and areas like Qila Saifullah and the northern regions. Musa Khel, Dera Bugti, and Rakhni are likely to experience cold weather with light winds.
The Meteorological Department stated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will experience cold and dry weather, with extreme cold expected in upper districts. In the next 24 hours, Swat, Shangla, Dir, Chitral, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Battagram, and Torghar are also likely to witness rain with thunderstorms.
In Swat, the temperature has dropped below freezing, with Kalam recording -6°C, while temperatures in Chitral and Timergara were recorded at -2°C. The minimum temperature in Peshawar was 3°C, with the maximum temperature expected to reach 21°C in the city.
