Hyderabad: English fast bowler Jofra Archer has etched his name in IPL history with the most expensive bowling spell ever.
In the 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Rajasthan Royals faced off against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batters completely dominated Rajasthan’s bowlers, posting a massive total of 286 runs for 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs — the second-highest score in IPL history.
During the match, Rajasthan Royals’ bowler Jofra Archer delivered the costliest spell in IPL history, conceding 76 runs in 4 overs without taking a single wicket — the highest ever by any bowler in the league.
Previously, this unwanted record was held by Gujarat Titans’ bowler Mohit Sharma, who gave away 73 runs in 4 overs against Delhi Capitals last year.
In response to Hyderabad’s target of 287 runs, Rajasthan Royals managed to score 242 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs.
