An important milestone for Pakistan’s exports has been reached with the approval of a four-year export permit to the United States for fish and seafood products.
This U.S. approval will help stabilize Pakistan’s exports, said Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry. The U.S. approval is a worldwide acknowledgement of the quality of Pakistani seafood, he said, adding that Pakistan exported 242,000 tons of fish last year.
The minister went on to say that seafood exports are predicted to reach $600 million in the upcoming year and that Pakistani fisheries have reached U.S. standards.
Furthermore, Junaid Anwar Chaudhry underlined that this approval has made it possible to continue exporting seafood, which will benefit Pakistan’s economy.
