Irfan Saleem of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has submitted his nomination papers for the vacant Senate seat that became available following the disqualification of Shibli Faraz. A large number of PTI workers accompanied him during the submission. The election for this seat will be held on October 30.
Speaking to the media, Irfan Saleem said that the transfer of power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is taking place peacefully and the nomination of the new chief minister is a decision made by the party’s founding chairman. He noted that Ali Amin Gandapur resigned in line with the leadership’s decision.
Irfan Saleem warned that any attempt to disrupt or alter the transfer of power would result in people taking to the streets. He added that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly is the only assembly with Form 45, and the public’s decision must be respected.
He further said that the governor should refrain from making illegal or unconstitutional statements, adding that it is the governor’s constitutional duty to decide once the resignation is received.
