British Deputy High Commissioner Lance Dom met with Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon to discuss the province’s energy policy, ongoing development projects, and international partnerships.
During the meeting, Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that the Sindh government is actively working on multiple energy initiatives. He noted that projects related to Thar coal, solar power, wind hybrid, and home solarization are already underway, while additional projects supported by the World Bank will be launched soon.
He stated that Pakistan and the United Kingdom are eager to further strengthen their cooperation in the energy sector. Sindh is rich in natural resources, and the provincial government is focusing on their efficient utilization.
The minister emphasized that achieving energy self-sufficiency is a key objective of the Sindh government. He added that the world’s largest housing project is currently being developed in Sindh, where 2.1 million houses are being built for flood-affected families.
The British Deputy High Commissioner praised the Sindh government’s development initiatives and described its public welfare measures as commendable. Senior Political Adviser Huda Ikram from the British High Commission also attended the meeting. On this occasion, Sharjeel Inam Memon presented Sindhi lungi gifts to the guests.
