Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to take all possible measures to facilitate investors and industrialists. He emphasized that the Power Division must develop comprehensive and effective policy recommendations to enhance industrial output and strengthen the national economy.
The instructions came during a review meeting chaired by the Prime Minister regarding the Power Division’s reform package for the industrial and agricultural sectors. Officials briefed the prime minister on the proposed reforms and discussed their implementation strategy.
The prime minister stressed that all relevant institutions must actively work to support investors and industries, adding that providing maximum support to the agricultural and industrial sectors is among the government’s top priorities.
He also highlighted the need to ensure the optimal and positive use of power generation to boost agricultural and industrial productivity. The Power Division was instructed to formulate a clear and practical strategy to achieve this objective.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister chaired another important meeting on the restructuring of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) and the promotion of SMEs. He welcomed steps taken to increase women’s participation in the SME sector and called for wider awareness of such initiatives.
The Prime Minister further emphasized encouraging the registration of home-based industries to facilitate their access to loans for business expansion. He directed that a clear timeline be set for the implementation of SMEDA’s roadmap and that swift action be ensured. The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the Ministry of Industries and Production’s efforts in this regard.
