KARACHI: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Chairman of Sunni Tehreek, Muhammad Sarwat Ejaz Qadri, and emphasized the need to promote religious harmony and national unity. Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah were also present. Religious scholars’ services were acknowledged during the meeting.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that the propaganda regarding the closure of seminaries or mosques is baseless. He assured that no madrassa or mosque would be shut down. He said that Islam is a religion of peace, love, and tolerance, and there is no room for violence or unrest.
He added that religious scholars have always played a vital role in defending the country. Pakistan is moving forward, and in such times, everyone must play a constructive role. Every citizen has the right to protest within the bounds of the law, but unity is essential for the nation’s stability.
