Lahore: Pakistan’s renowned cricketer Babar Azam will be honored with the Star of Excellence on 23 March 2023, as announced on August 14, 2022.
The national team captain Babar Azam will also become the youngest Pakistani cricketer to receive the Star of Excellence.
In the past, Abdul Qadir (late), Shahid Afridi, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Younis Khan have already received the Star of Excellence.
Babar Azam is ranked in the top 5 in all three formats of the ICC rankings, and under his captaincy, Pakistan defeated India for the first time in any World Cup in 2021.
