Punjab Governor Sardar Salim Haider addressed prominent members of the Pakistani community at the Pakistan Consulate in Glasgow during his visit to Scotland.
Speaking at a dinner hosted in honor of the Punjab Governor, Pakistan’s Consul General in Scotland Rana Samar Javed said that the Pakistani community is playing an active and positive role across various sectors of life in Scotland.
Governor Salim Haider listened to the concerns raised by members of the Pakistani community and stated that the government is fully aware of the issues faced by overseas Pakistanis. He said special measures are being taken to address land grabbing, housing society fraud, and to ensure the protection of Pakistanis living abroad. He added that while the law and order situation in the country is not ideal, it has improved significantly compared to the past.
The Punjab Governor said that the democratic process in Pakistan is continuing and will remain on track. He noted that Pakistan’s global standing has improved following its victory in the war with India. He added that Pakistan is the only nuclear power in the Islamic world and possesses defensive capabilities that can reach any part of the world.
He emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces are drawn from the people and that national stability depends on continued public support for the military. According to him, strong armed forces are the guarantor of a strong Pakistan.
Upon his arrival in Scotland, Governor Salim Haider was received at the airport by Pakistan’s Consul General Rana Samar Javed along with notable political and social figures Chaudhry Aslam and Chaudhry Nadeem.
