Eight terrorists were killed while one soldier was martyred during a secret operation carried out on the basis of a secret tip in the Shnawaarsk area of South Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, there was an intense exchange of fire between the army and the militants during the operation, and the army targeted the militants’ hideouts.
In the exchange of fire, terrorist commander Jan Muhammad Arif Chiragh was among the eight militants killed, and weapons and ammunition were also recovered from their possession.
According to a spokesman for the Pakistan Army, the slain terrorists were involved in terrorist activities and the killing of innocent civilians and security forces.
The ISPR statement also said that during the intense exchange of fire, 31-year-old soldier Hamid Rasool, who hailed from Rawalpindi district, fought bravely and embraced martyrdom while two soldiers and two civilians were injured.
The ISPR statement further said that Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eliminate terrorism and the sacrifices of our brave soldiers strengthen our resolve to achieve this goal.
It should be noted that on April 1, a young soldier of the Pakistan Army was martyred in an exchange of fire with terrorists in North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while on the same day, the ISPR had announced that an operation was carried out on a secret tip in the Nosheman area of Sabi district in Balochistan, where one terrorist was killed and two were injured.
