Federal Minister for Information Atta Tarar has released details of the losses inflicted on Khawarij and Afghan Taliban militants during Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq, stating that a large number of militants have been killed and injured in the ongoing operations.
In a statement shared on social media, Atta Tarar said that so far 663 Khawarij and Afghan Taliban militants have been killed during the operation, while more than 887 others have been injured.
According to the Information Minister, a total of 249 militant checkpoints have been destroyed during the operation, while another 44 checkpoints were first captured and later demolished.
He further stated that security forces have destroyed 224 tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery belonging to militant groups, significantly weakening their combat capabilities.
Atta Tarar said that around 70 locations associated with militants and their supporting infrastructure in Afghanistan were targeted through air operations. He added that Pakistan targeted terrorist installations in Afghanistan during the night between March 12 and 13.
He also stated that logistical bases and training camps of militants in Kabul, Paktia, and Kandahar were targeted as part of the operation to dismantle the militant network.
The Information Minister emphasized that no civilian population or civil infrastructure was targeted during Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq. He also alleged that certain officials of the Afghan interim government and some media outlets are spreading misleading propaganda regarding the operation.
