The All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association has expressed serious concerns over the current mechanism for determining petroleum prices and has demanded immediate consultation with the Petroleum Minister to include stakeholders in the decision-making process.
Vice Chairman Nauman Butt stated that petrol pump owners should be taken into confidence regarding the pricing structure, as nearly 15,000 pump owners across the country have strong objections to the existing system.
He said that creating a new crisis under the current circumstances would not be appropriate, but if their demands are not met, the option of shutting down petrol pumps is under consideration, which could further complicate the situation.
Nauman Butt warned that if the issues are not resolved promptly, the petroleum minister would be held responsible for any resulting consequences, urging the government to take immediate action.
