US President Donald Trump has stated that constructive and positive talks are ongoing with Iran, which could prove to be a highly beneficial development for all parties involved.
In a message shared on social media, President Trump said that his representatives are engaged in very positive negotiations with Iran, and if the process continues in this manner, it could yield favorable outcomes for everyone.
He also announced the restoration of ship movement in the Strait of Hormuz starting Monday, noting that several countries have requested US assistance to evacuate their vessels.
According to the US President, efforts will begin Monday morning to free ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz, while some countries have indicated that they will not move their vessels until safe passage through the strait is ensured.
Trump further stated that a project titled “Project Freedom” will be launched on Monday morning to ensure the safe movement of ships in the Strait of Hormuz and to facilitate affected vessels and their crews.
He clarified that the initiative is aimed at assisting ships belonging to countries that are not involved in the recent Middle East conflict, and directed his representatives to assure those countries that every possible effort will be made to safely evacuate their vessels and crew.
The US President added that many stranded ships are facing shortages of food and other essential supplies, and this humanitarian effort could help promote goodwill between the parties.
He also warned that any obstruction to this humanitarian initiative would be met with a strong response.
