Peshawar Zalmi delivered an impressive performance in the HBL PSL 11 final, defeating Hyderabad Kingsmen by 5 wickets to claim the PSL title for the second time.
In the final played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and opted to field first, a decision that later proved beneficial.
Batting first, Hyderabad Kingsmen struggled against Zalmi’s bowling attack and were bowled out for 129 runs in 18 overs.
For Hyderabad Kingsmen, Saim Ayub was the top scorer with 54 runs, completing the first half-century of the event, while captain Marnus Labuschagne scored 20 runs. Other contributors included Moaz Sadaqat with 11, Hassan Khan with 12, and Hunain Shah with 9 runs, while Glenn Maxwell was dismissed for a duck.
From Peshawar Zalmi, Aaron Hardie was the standout bowler, taking 4 wickets for 27 runs, while Nahid Rana claimed 2 wickets for 22 runs.
Chasing a target of 130 runs, Peshawar Zalmi faced early setbacks as captain Babar Azam was dismissed for zero, while Haris scored 6, Kusal Mendis 9, and Bracewell 4 runs, with the fourth wicket falling at just 40 runs.
In a difficult situation, Aaron Hardie and Abdul Samad stabilized the innings, with Hardie scoring an unbeaten 56 and Abdul Samad contributing 48 runs to guide their team to victory.
Peshawar Zalmi successfully chased the 130-run target in the 16th over with the loss of 5 wickets.
Aaron Hardie delivered an outstanding all-round performance, taking 4 wickets and scoring 56 not out, earning recognition as the standout player of the final.
For Hyderabad Kingsmen, Mohammad Ali took 3 wickets.
The final match saw a packed Gaddafi Stadium, while a vibrant closing ceremony before the toss featured performances by leading artists including Atif Aslam, Ali Azmat, Arif Lohar, Aima Baig, and the Sabri Sisters.
A total of 32,461 spectators attended the PSL 11 final, marking the highest attendance for any match in PSL history.
