Following the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, party workers took to the streets and staged protests across the country, which led to police cracking down on the demonstrators.
In various locations in Karachi, there were clashes, and the police raided Liaquatabad C1 area and arrested three people. According to police sources, the arrested individuals were caught on video creating a disturbance. PTI leader Ali Zaidi has also been arrested.
In Lahore, PTI leaders Akram Usman and his brother Haroon Akbar were arrested, and according to Secretary Waqas Amjad, police also broke into their house and misbehaved with women. Former Governor of Punjab, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, was also taken into custody.
In Sialkot, over 450 PTI workers were booked on charges of terrorism for allegedly vandalizing a police van. The suspects include Omar Darr, Saeed Ahmed Bhalli, Moon Chima, Omar Javed Ghuman, Mian Ajaz, and Hafiz Hamid Raza.
PTI leadership has claimed that a raid was conducted on the residence of former MPA Ghulam Sarwar in Sahiwal, resulting in the arrest of two people. Ten people from Sahiwal have been arrested in total.
