Heavy rainfall in Lahore for six hours has caused low-lying areas to be submerged in water, presenting a scene of overflowing streams and canals.
In the past 6 hours, the highest recorded rainfall of 234 millimeters was observed in Lakshmi Chowk. Similarly, the areas of Nishtar Town received 201 millimeters of rainfall, while Qartaba Chowk recorded 213 millimeters. The water-filled lake received 201 millimeters, Jauhar Town 183 millimeters, Tajpura Scheme 202 millimeters, and Gulshan Ravi 200 millimeters, all setting new records for rainfall.
Due to the incessant rain in Lahore, the electricity supply has been temporarily disrupted from 110 feeders of LESCO (Lahore Electric Supply Company). According to the spokesperson of Lahore Electric Supply Company, the field staff has been put on high alert. The heavy rainfall has caused difficulties in the restoration work of electricity. The spokesperson mentioned that as soon as the rain subsides, efforts will be made to restore the power supply.
