Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has strongly condemned the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden and stated that Turkey will continue to oppose Sweden’s inclusion in NATO.
According to international news agencies, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has categorically denounced the incidents of desecration of the Holy Quran as part of an anti-Islamic hate campaign. He made it clear that Turkey will maintain its opposition to Sweden’s inclusion in NATO.
He stated that the desecration of the Holy Quran is not an expression of freedom but rather an organized anti-Islamic hate campaign, which was initiated by the attack on a mosque in Christchurch.
On the other hand, the Swedish police rejected the requests for protests against the Holy Quran, and the courts rejected the appeal, stating that such protests would be a violation of freedom of expression.
It is evident that there is a global wave of protests against the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden, and the Pakistani government has decided to observe July 7 as the Day of Quranic Sanctity. Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia have also lodged protests by summoning Sweden’s ambassador.
