Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the sacrifices of those who laid down their lives for the country will never be forgotten. He vowed to eradicate the scourge of terrorism from the nation, highlighting that martyrdom is a prestigious status granted by Allah to the chosen few. The Quran testifies that martyrs are alive, and Pakistan will completely eliminate its enemies.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended the funeral of Captain Ilyas Faraz, who was martyred in Lakki Marwat recently. The Prime Minister expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs and carried the coffin of Captain Faraz Ilyas.
Meeting with the family of the martyred Captain Faraz Ilyas, Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that martyrdom is a special honor given by Allah, and the blood of Captain Faraz will not go in vain. He affirmed the commitment to completely eliminate the enemies of Pakistan, citing the Quran’s assurance of the eternal life of martyrs.
The Prime Minister also announced that the village of Captain Faraz Ilyas would be renamed in his honor.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the funeral prayers for Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas, Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir, and Lance Naik Muhammad Anwar were held in Bannu.
The funeral prayers for Lance Naik Hussain Ali, Soldier Asadullah, Soldier Manzoor Hussain, and Soldier Rashid Mahmood were also performed.
Later, the body of Captain Faraz Ilyas was transported to his hometown Chunia, where a large number of people, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, federal ministers, military officials, the Corps Commander Peshawar, serving officers, soldiers, and the general public, attended the funeral.
The bodies of other officers and soldiers who were martyred in the attack were sent to their respective hometowns, where they were buried with military honors.
ISPR stated that Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism, and the sacrifices of these brave martyrs further strengthen their resolve.
It is noteworthy that the previous day, an IED explosion targeted a security forces vehicle in Lakki Marwat, resulting in the martyrdom of an army captain and seven soldiers.
