England’s former fast bowler James Anderson, aged 43, has surprised cricket fans by registering for the 2025–26 season players’ draft of Australia’s popular Big Bash League (BBL), according to media reports.
Anderson had announced his retirement from international cricket in 2024 and had stepped away from the T20 format for several years. However, after an impressive comeback in the recent T20 Blast season, he has expressed his desire to participate in the BBL.
In the T20 Blast, Anderson played only three matches but took 7 wickets, clearly showcasing his form and fitness. His unexpected return has sparked new discussions in cricket circles.
