Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met with members of the Pakistani community residing in Washington, calling overseas Pakistanis the “ambassadors of the nation” and appreciating their positive role.
According to a statement issued from Islamabad, during his official visit to the United States, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met with the Pakistani community in Washington, D.C. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief was warmly welcomed by overseas Pakistanis, and a large number of community members participated in the gathering.
On the occasion, overseas Pakistanis paid rich tribute to the bravery, courage, and professionalism of the Pakistan Army during Operation Bunyan Mursas.
Field Marshal Asim Munir praised the role of Pakistanis living abroad, calling them the “true ambassadors” of the country. He said their contributions to the economy, remittances, investment, and improving Pakistan’s global image are highly valuable and commendable.
During the meeting, members of the community shared their experiences, concerns, and suggestions with the Army Chief. In response, General Asim Munir emphasized the importance of continuous communication, coordination, and cooperation. He said overseas Pakistanis and their homeland are inseparable, and only through mutual efforts can Pakistan become secure, prosperous, and strong.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides expressing their commitment to work together with renewed spirit and determination to overcome the challenges facing Pakistan.
It is worth noting that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has recently visited several key countries to highlight Pakistan’s national interests on a global level, with special focus on national security, diplomatic ties, and connections with overseas Pakistanis.
