A concerning revelation has emerged regarding healthcare services in Balochistan, showing that only 11 hospitals across the province meet the required health service standards, while the majority fail to comply with even basic healthcare criteria.
According to a report by the Balochistan Healthcare Commission, only two public and nine private hospitals in the province meet approved health service standards and have been issued licenses for providing medical facilities in accordance with standard operating procedures.
The report stated that a total of 1,540 hospitals, laboratories, and medical centers are registered with the Healthcare Commission. However, 1,529 hospitals, laboratories, and clinics do not meet basic treatment standards, raising serious concerns about the healthcare system.
The report further revealed that several government hospitals are operating without obtaining licenses from the Healthcare Commission, which constitutes a violation of established regulations.
Officials of the Healthcare Commission expressed concern over substandard medical practices and the lack of adequate patient safety measures, emphasizing the need for stricter oversight and corrective actions.
