The Counter Terrorism Department conducted an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ghazi Khan and killed four militants linked to the Khawarij group.
According to a CTD spokesperson, the operation took place near the border village of Jotar, where security forces attempted to arrest the militants. During the exchange of fire, four dangerous militants were killed.
The statement said that eleven militants managed to escape under the cover of darkness while a search operation was ongoing to capture them.
Weapons, including rifles, ammunition, and explosive materials, were recovered from the killed militants.
The CTD spokesperson added that the militants were planning attacks on police checkpoints and other government installations, but the timely operation foiled their plans.
Authorities said the identification process of the killed militants is underway, while efforts are continuing to track down those who escaped.
