Sindh’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2025 and 2026 will be presented today in the Sindh Assembly. The total budget is expected to exceed Rs 3,400 billion.
The budget session of the Sindh Assembly will be held at 3 PM, during which Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah will present the budget.
A proposal has been put forward to increase the salaries of government employees in Sindh by 10 to 20 percent and to raise the minimum wage for laborers by Rs 5,000.
An increase in the salaries of Sindh Assembly members is also expected. A total of 481 new schemes will be included in the next fiscal year’s budget.
It has also been proposed to grant financial powers to school headmasters, release direct funds to 34,000 schools, and allocate Rs 18 billion for these schools.
In addition, the development budget for education is proposed to be increased from Rs 32 billion to Rs 38 billion, while the development budget for health is suggested to be raised from Rs 18 billion to Rs 21 billion.
It is worth mentioning that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will also present its budget today. The total volume of the budget has been proposed at Rs 2,070 billion, with Rs 114 billion allocated for development projects. Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has summoned the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly session for today.
