Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari met with Egypt’s Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Ahmed Mohamed Abdelatty, during which both sides reaffirmed their resolve to further strengthen the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Egypt.
President Zardari emphasized the importance of transforming the 77-year diplomatic relationship into a broader and more robust economic partnership. He highlighted cooperation opportunities in multiple sectors, including trade, investment, energy, construction, agriculture, mining, and information technology.
During the meeting, the Egyptian Foreign Minister conveyed a special message from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to President Zardari. Both leaders also discussed the overall regional situation and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
A separate one-on-one meeting between President Zardari and Dr. Abdelatty was also held, focusing on expanding bilateral cooperation and strengthening strategic engagement between the two countries.
