Cases of dog bites across Sindh have increased at an alarming pace, putting significant pressure on hospitals as the number of rabies patients continues to grow.
According to reports, more than forty thousand rabies cases have been recorded since January in only three major hospitals of Karachi, highlighting the severity of the public health situation in the province.
Data shows that over the past twelve months, Jinnah Hospital Karachi received sixteen thousand cases, Indus Hospital reported thirteen thousand, and Civil Hospital Karachi treated more than twelve thousand rabies patients, all requiring urgent medical attention.
Additionally, at least twenty-two people across the province have lost their lives to rabies this year, raising serious concerns among health experts and local authorities.
