The Peshawar High Court has fixed for hearing today the petition of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), challenging the Election Commission’s decision regarding intra-party elections.
On behalf of PTI, the petition was submitted by Barrister Zafar, Ali Gohar, Ali Amin Gandapur, Umar Ayub, Munir Ahmad Baloch, Zahir Shah and Anwar Taj, In which the Election Commission has been made a party, Justice Kamran Hayat Mian Khel of Peshawar High Court will conduct the hearing.
The petition states that the decision of the Election Commission should be declared illegal.
The position taken in the petition was that it was wrong to question the intra-party elections, it was also wrong to take the mark of the bat, it should be returned, the certificate of PTI intra-party elections should be issued.
It has been further stated in the petition that the decision of the Election Commission should be suspended and the symbol of the bat should be restored.
It should be noted that yesterday, PTI had decided to go to Peshawar High Court against the Election Commission of Pakistan’s decision to declare the PTI intra-party election null and void and withdraw the election symbol of the bat.
