Court-martial proceedings against Lieutenant General (R) Faiz Hameed have commenced, and he has been charge-sheeted in this regard. According to the Public Relations Wing of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), proceedings under the relevant provisions of the Pakistan Army Act were initiated against Lieutenant General (R) Faiz Hameed on August 12, 2024, through a Field General Court Martial.
In the next phase of the Field General Court Martial, Lieutenant General (R) Faiz Hameed has been formally charge-sheeted.
According to the military spokesperson, the charges include involvement in political activities, violations of the Official Secrets Act causing harm to the security and interests of the state, misuse of authority and official resources, and causing undue harm to individuals.
During the Field General Court Martial process, a separate investigation is also being conducted into Lieutenant General (R) Faiz Hameed’s alleged involvement in violent incidents related to unrest and chaos in the country. These include several violent incidents linked to events of May 9.
According to ISPR, the investigation into these violent incidents also covers the alleged incitement and collusion of nefarious political elements. Throughout the Field General Court Martial process, Lieutenant General (R) Faiz Hameed is being provided all legal rights following the law.
